18/9/2012 - Ransom FailsAgent Vander Le Saque of Eurasian Incorporated foiled ransom attempts this week after being mailed his daughter's finger. The severed digit was attached to a note demanding two million credit but instead of paying the ransom Agent Le Saque simply had a copy of his daughter cloned from the finger and a new personality installed from Itoma Xengin's extensive back catalogue.
In a press conference earlier today Agent Le Saque said "Sure, I'll miss the old Jodie but she did have some really irritating habits - I think the wife and I had spoiled her. She was getting fat and I'm buggered if I'm going to fork out for Sunatol." Is this a win for justice or a sick misuse of technology - tell us what you think. E.I.News. 7/9/2012 - Slap leads to ChaosA Shi Yukiro Agent on UIG business evaded Hong Kong Spire Security this morning when he was reprimanded for assaulting a secretary. According to witnesses the SY Agent made advances on secretary in the Hong Kong Spire while waiting to see a UIG representative. The secretaries reaction caused the Agent to slap her round the face at which point she called security. Agent Yamaguchi was fined one rank point but it seemed that the damage to his honour was more than the security Agent had bargained for. Later that day the Ai-Jinn barrack building was found in disarray and Agent Han Yan (the officer responsible for the rank deduction) was dead, assassinated with what can only have been ion weaponry. Ai-Jinn officials are certain who was responsible but have no way to prove it. The age old conflict between these bitter rivals continues. Perhaps the UIG should have known better than to conduct business with Shi Yukiro in an Ai-Jinn spire.
20/7/12 - Berlin Old City ChaosFour prisoners escaped from E.I.'s Berlin Interrogation Facility yesterday leaving ruination and chaos behind them. The escapees obviously had outside help and were armed with a range of heavy weapons including rail guns, rocket launchers, grenades, explosives and light firearms. They have been on the run for 12 hours now but authorities are confident they will detain them soon.
In-Game News (See Old Articles)28/6/2012 - Cultist Escapes CustodyA member of the Cult of Machina calling itself 'Sanctity of Steel' broke away from a Malenbrach escort outside San Jose High Court early this morning. Witnesses say the Cultist leapt vertically a height of around 30 feet and grabbed onto the wall of the court building. It then scrambled up onto the roof before any kind of capture attempt could be started.
So far no sign has been seen of the Cultist and standard procedure at criminal hearings has been called into question. Expectations are that all accused will now be fitted with cybernetic suppressors and kill switches. The existing law does not permit the use of kill switches in such situations and only requires cybernetic suppressors to be fitted to offensive augmentations - a position that has long been criticised. 25/6/2012 - UIG Officers Abduct GirlYesteday four masked UIG Officers forced their way into The Last Mercy hospital in Cairo, suppressed security and abducted a seven year old girl. The girl was suffering from unexplained nosebleeds and severe hallucinations. Dr. Edian Loren, the girls attending, told press that she was a kind, if confused child whose parents had refused to visit since her arrival at the hospital. The nature of her illness was still unknown but she had become a favourite amoung the staff.
In a press statement, UIG PR Officer Miranda Lane said, "There are special circumstances which required the isolation and examination of this citizen. As ever we are committed to the safety of the people at large." When questioned by our experts the descriptions given of the UIG Officers by medical staff make it seem as though these operatives may have been Marshals. Should that assessment be right it would be one of the few occasions where two or more Marshals have been seen working together in public. Have your say at NEWS.MY.VIEW 20/6/12 - Comoros Suspected of Political AgitationThe city of Nanking was the site of riots after thousands of Ai-Jinn citizens marched on the Jianye Administrative Centre yesterday morning. The marchers were protesting the unjust detainment of five individuals who Ai-Jinn officials believe were linked with insurrectionist movements. Despite a lack of evidence the five have been shipped to the notorious Lishui Detention Facility where they are allegedly undergoing extreme interrogation.
Previous protests have been relatively peaceful, in part due to the severe force such actions are normally met with but it seems public disapproval has escalated. Blame for this has been squarely placed on the shoulders of Comoros Janissaries. In a press statement this morning Ai-Jinn Director for Civil Obedience said "The Ai-Jinn citizenry are loyal, hardworking and upstanding people who admire and respect their overseerers. I cannot see how such rebellious and lawless behaviour could possibly take route without the intervention of some kind of political agitator. We will make examples of the wrongdoers and take all steps necessary to ensure this does not happen again." 17/6/12 - Megastorms Hit London SuburbsIt has been well documented that the use of weather satellites can have a severe effect on proximal climate systems but yesterday in London new records were set. Van Rosch was long anticipating the visit of Ai-Jinn CEO Yuan Qingzhao and had ordered an array of beautiful and exciting weather effects to herald her entry to the city. Although impressive the districts outside of London were hit with some of the worst storms in history. 30 inches of rain fell in six hours and there were 19 confirmed lightning strikes. Hurricane force winds ripped the rooftops from dozens of buildings contributing to a total confirmed death toll of 511.
Van Rosch did not comment on the incident but Head of Public Relations Agt. Chris Vaughn said today "The incident was regrettable but it's just one of those things. The Ai-Jinn are potentially a great ally and an even more dangerous enemy. For their CEO to visit us was a great honour and if we had not done everything in our power to make her visit special, she may have gone away with a negative impression of the corporation. The sacrifices those people made will long be remembered and their families will be pleased to know that CEO Yuan Qingzhao was has struck a deal with us which will see the company prosper greatly in the coming years." 15/6/12 - Scrap Town to be ClearedThe scrap town known by its residents as New Berlin is in danger of being dissolved by Eurasian Inc. after plans were revealed to build a radiation analysis facility on the site. The town, located 15 miles south of Berlin Old City is home to some 450 residents, most of whom are considered outcasts.
E.I.s David Leinster (Head of the Deradiation Initiative) when asked why this site was so important said 'This part of the world has a radioactive characteristic which is extremely similar to parts France's radioactive periphery. Essentially if we could assess and reradiate this land, then we could start a much larger project to remove the harmful radiation from France." In another interview with CWTV, Leinster was asked by Judura Cameno of the Comoros corporation why they could not perform their work in a area of France and why even if they do need to work in New Berlin are they not working around the scrap town or at least re-homing the residents. To Cameno's obvious shock Leinster just laughed and said "Well that would just cost too much bloody money wouldn't it ... f**king hippies." 12/6/12 - Order of the True Faith Denounces CultistsIf you're alive you cannot fail to have heard of the Cult of Machina prophet calling itself 'The Chains of Mortality'. Using some nefarious technology the Cultist and its followers have been hijacking media transmissions and inserting messages into the broadcasts. The latest transmission, which occurred at 19.33 GMTon WFTV, contained the following text 'You stand on the edge of the void gazing into the darkness. You know you must jump but you do not have the courage. You know you must die to be reborn and then you need die no more. Take faith child for the strong will be saved and the weak will perish. So says the one true God.'
Inquisitor Stannas of the Order went public shortly after the transmission stating that 'this incoherent rambling was not sanctioned by the order and should be disregarded. The one true god of which the poor, deluded soul speaks was a construct of his imagination and not the father of humanity we all adore and revere. The inquisition will do its best to find this unfortunate individual and help it to see the light.' 9/6/12 - Glitch Costs 320 LivesA cyberlin plant in Kinag-Sep, China, was the scene of a brutal massacre when an Atrocity Class cyberlin was installed with a faulty A.I. Upon powering up the cyberlin refused to acknowledge orders and broke out the factory, killing workers as it went.
After 25 minutes the infamous Ai-Jinn Division 'The Claw of the Dragon' arrived at the scene and managed to subdue the machine with minimal damage. Dragon's Head Kuan-Yin Liang has suggested that the A.I. had been thoroughly tested and the only explanation was that is had been remotely hacked prior to installation. He went on to say that the Shi Yukiro were working on such a system at the moment and he suspected this loss of life was a direct result of a sabotage attack. Have your say at HACKING.WFNEWS.SPEAK |
