8/6/2500 - Genetically Altered Trees Infesting Northern Egypt
The bleak deserts of northern Egypt are being invaded by a genetically altered tree which grows at an astounding rate and propagates with an intensity previously unseen. So far, in less that one week, the trees have colonised an area some 32 square kilometres in size with the oldest specimens already reaching a height of around 30 metres. No one has claimed responsibility for establishing these plants and understandably so. The penalty for all involved would almost certainly result in depersonalisation and a crippling fine for the company. The UIG Department of the Environment are currently deciding what course of action to take.

4/6/2500 - Multymeat Using Agents?Muncheros - a new and upcoming chain of Tex-Mex restaurants has been targeted by unknown Agents. Their flagship store in Barcelona was hit by a group of four unidentified assailants last night who used standard Agent tactics to render the place of business inoperable. UIG Officer Andreas Carlona, speaking for the investigation team said earlier 'Muncheros is one of the few hot food outlets who are not supplied by Multymeat - instead they produce their own meat substitutes in a vat-plant just outside Madrid. Initial investigations lead us to believe Multymeat could be behind this attack. Multymeat have always denied have having a militant wing and this news is somewhat disturbing.'
1/6/2500 - WF News Team Accused of Poor Ethics LGN Reporter Cynthia Manning
The world famous WF news team Latest Greatest News has been accused of manipulating events to get their stories. Comoros Agent divisons have collected evidence to suggest that LGN planted the device which exploded in a Tokyo hospital last week and the live footage they acquired of the explosion was gathered through the most despicable and unethical means imaginable. 44 staff and patients died in the explosion but WF News received some of the highest ratings for years and was watched worldwide (something that seldom happens with WFN's somewhat one sided take on world events.)

It was working near the notorious Nestrum sector, 223,443,3,7b, which is famous for both its plentiful resources and strange disappearances when all comms were lost. Scout ships have been dispatched but nothing has been found. Ai-Jinn spokesperson Agt. Mai-Ann Chen says the corporation has not given up on finding the vessel but things don't look good. Takata to Demo Plasma WeaponsTakata may be dipping their toes into the field of plasma weapon development according to a source in the arms industries. Plasma weapons have always been the domain of Anzeiger, who are well known for such weapons as the Bloodstorm and the PX5. The two companies have a always had an understanding not to move in on each other's sectors but with the recent release of the AMS Redline Laser Sniper's Rifle the floodgates have been opened. Only time will tell whether Takata can make a decent plasma weapon or whether this scare is enough to get AMS to discontinue laser development.
These two weapons are the subject of this week's E.I. Friday E.I. Agent MauledIn Berlin Old City last night, a Eurasian Agent was set upon by a group of armed thugs. While one wrestled him to the ground, two others set about pulling his weapons from his hands. He was only able to escape by detonating a canister of CNCN4 which caused the attackers to scatter in fear for the lives. E.I. are offering a reward for information leading to an arrest. The Agent in question, Agt. Lutz Cartina, would very much like his shotgun and plasma sword back as he only just purchased them. Info to EI.CRIME.BERLIN
Class 2 Mutant Spotted in Egypt
The Comoros corporation has today stated its citizens have seen Class 2 mutated BIOs in the city of Old Cairo. Although official investigations have turned up nothing a sense of panic is starting to spread through the city. Additional patrols have been brought in and Agent divisions placed on full alert. 6/6/2500 - Next Generation of Malenbrach to be Deployed in JapanThe UIG has completed its initial tests and say that they new generation of Malenbrach (codenamed Blackwatch) are ready for deployment to Japan. The UIG's latest gene shifts are lighter and more agile than standard Malenbrach but incorporate the ariel capabilities refined in the Juggernaught program. Officer Mika Vlensi, director of the Blackwatch program said today "Japan has always been a very difficult area to police. Not only is it part of the Capital Code Zone, there is also a overwhelming number of highly trained and mind blowingly evasive combatants operating there. Traditional policing falls down against targets such as Shi Yukiro ninja and Akita Cell Cultists; the Blackwatch units ... well you'll just have to see them."
2/6/2500 - Order Disciples Raid Cybernetics PlantA group of saboteurs destroyed a Reaver cybernetics synth plant in Stockholm early this morning. Although the attackers were careful to mask their identities, UIG analysts believe their methodology matches that of an Order of the True Faith Antechrat Strike Team.
Carl Manners, Reaver's Shadow CEO, in an interview after the raid said "We don't just make weapons, we build limbs for disabled kids 'n stuff. By damaging our factories you're hurting little children." 29/5/2500 UIG Officials Under ScrutinyTwo ranking UIG officials have been placed into custody and their finances frozen following accusations of false expense claims. Officer Daryl Linch (Rank 6) and Officer Giana Fezzon (Rank 5) were both found living in Officer Linch's parents' basement in Vermont whilst claiming full expenses for residing in the Burlington Residential Complex.
Officer Aaron Hayes in a press statement said that this kind of behaviour is unacceptable. The UIG's high ranking Officers should be examples to the people and have their best interests at heart. These two shall be made an example of and will receive sufficient rank point deductions to reduce them to rank 1. They will then be posted to Burlington Old City where they will be placed into positions which cannot be abused such as mail clerks or canteen staff. Although many citizens are crying out for depersonalisation the UIG chief of Internal Affairs Kai-Lang Song believes it better to retask these individuals, forcing them to work in menial public service positions until their debts have been repaid. This unusual form of punishment is a result of the recent Code 8 Amendment which states that in certain circumstances the UIG may enforce a special punishment which fits the crime, rather than simply going by a standard by-the-book approach. 25/5/2500 - Noodle Houses are DangerousThe latest figures from the UIG department of births and deaths has revealed some shocking news for fans of Chinese food. Deaths as a direct result of visiting noodle houses is second only to Intercorporate Warfare. When you bear in mind that a lot of the fights in noodle houses ARE corporate warfare, these figures are very worrying.

This week Mrs. Ethel Uzimaki was the first citizen to receive military spec cybernetics from her insurance company. Mrs. Uzimaki of Hiroshima Open City lost her arm is brutal assault outside her home. Her lawyer argued in court that by having a weaponised arm as a replacement such events would be less likely in the future. In the end her Insurance company agreed to have a custome version of Reaver T50 commissioned. In an interview after the surgery Mrs. Uzumaki appeared to be delighted saying 'I'm waiting for those mo-fos to try stealing my ramen again!"
